HI,
welcome in
HOPE YOU’RE WELL

I’m Caidyn, pleasure to meet you

Caidyn Dingle is an artist from High Point, North Carolina. She is currently studying to get her Associates in Fine Arts at Guilford Technical Community College in Jamestown, and enjoys exhibiting work in the on-campus gallery.
She has been making art since she was a child, when she used to write stories in spiral bound notebooks with her older sister and illustrate them herself. When asked what kind of art she made, she always told others that she “liked to draw people,” and that has not yet changed.
Her 2d work is mainly figural because “she is a human herself, so that makes the most sense.” She enjoys drawing with charcoal and conte crayons, and paints with oil, taking inspiration from the impressionist, post-impressionist, and expressionist painting styles, as well as the dramatics apparent in compositions from the romantic period.
She looks up to historical as well as current figural artists like Egon Schiele, Daumier, Jenny Saville, and Tracey Emin.
Currently, Dingle enjoys including slight abstractions and minor horror elements to her work, and explores various themes including The Fall of Man, Solitude, and studies of the female figure. She also does a bit of 3d work, indulging herself into wheel thrown pottery and figural sculpture.
Dingle prefers her work to appear “roughened” as if it has been somewhere nobody knows about, or as if there is something happening inside the piece that nobody on the outside can see. She invites the viewer to be a part of this secret; to try and figure out what might be happening inside, or decide themselves what the story is.
